<p class="TextInTable">Just an example: Open an empty text document and press F4, open the bibliography database table <span class="T1">biblio</span> in the data source view. While pressing Shift+Ctrl, drag a few column headers into the document so that the form fields are created there.</p>
<p class="TextInTable">To do this, open the <span class="T1">Form Functions</span> floating toolbar and click the Design Mode on/off icon, so that it does not appear to be pressed.</p>
<p class="TextInTable">On the <span class="T1">form toolbar</span>, click the <span class="T1">Form-based filters</span> icon. The current document is displayed with its inserted form functions as an empty edit mask. At the bottom edge you will see the <span class="T1">filter bar</span>.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">Remarks about possible wildcards and operators can be found in the <help:link Id="66162" Eid="sqlbefehle" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Help about Query Design</help:link>. If you enter filter conditions into several fields they will be joined by the Boolean AND.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="SID_FM_FILTER_EXECUTE" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">If on the filter bar you click the <span class="T1">Apply filter</span> icon, the filtering is performed in the database.</help:help-text> You see the form bar and can navigate the habitats.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="SID_FM_FILTER_EXIT" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">If you click on the button <span class="T1">Close</span> in the filter bar then the form will be displayed without a filter.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph">In the form view, click the <help:link Id="66004" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><span class="T1">Apply Filter</span></help:link> icon to change to the filtered view.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">The filters that have been set can be removed by clicking on the icon <help:link Id="65976" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><span class="T1">Remove Filter/Sort</span></help:link>.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="SID_FM_FILTER_NAVIGATOR" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:key-word value="filters; Navigator" tag="kw68261_1" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">If you want to connect several filter conditions with OR, click the <span class="T1">Filter Navigation</span> icon on the filter bar.</help:help-text> The dockable <span class="T1">Filter Navigator</span> window appears.</p>

<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FILTER_NAVIGATOR" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">The filter conditions that are set appear in the <span class="T1">Filter Navigator</span>. As soon as a filter is set, at the bottom of the <span class="T1">Filter Navigator</span> you will see a blank filter level, which you can select by clicking on the word "Or". Once you have selected the blank filter level, you can enter other filter conditions in the form. These conditions are linked by Boolean OR to the previously defined conditions.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="SID_FM_FILTER_EDIT" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-id value="SID_FM_FILTER_IS_NULL" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-id value="SID_FM_FILTER_IS_NOT_NULL" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>The context menu can be called for every entry in the Filter Navigator. <help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">You can edit the filter conditions in this area directly as text. In addition you can also select the filter conditions (SQL:"Is Null") or (SQL: "Is not Null") if you wish to check if a field has content or not.</help:help-text> It is also possible to delete the entry by using the context menu.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">You are able to move the filter conditions within a form in the Filter Navigator by Drag&Drop or copy them by holding down the <help:switch select="System" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="MAC">Command</help:case><help:default>Crtl Key</help:default></help:switch>.</p>
